Chemistry Styles for FUT on FIFA 17 and the effects of them have been a huge talking point since the Chem-gate saga back at the end of FIFA 16.

We give you all the tips you need to start understanding the real effects to your players’ stats when you apply different chemistry styles! Please read on….

Chemistry in FIFA 17 Ultimate Team is more than ever, hugely important. If you can find the perfect combination of Individual Chemistry, Team Chemistry, and Chemistry Styles you can expect huge increases to your players total stats across various individual attributes, NOT on your base card stat (the stats you see on the card of your player). In essence, you can turn a Silver card into a Gold, or a standard Gold into a top-tier, in-form rare card.

Beware though, it’s not all great news. A low individual Chemistry rating for the player and/or the team can actually decrease the attributes of your players by a huge amount across the board – taking that Gold player down to a Silver instead.

Basic Chemistry Terminology

Individual Player Chemistry – Rated out of 10 for each player.
Team Chemistry – Rated out of 100 for the entire team.
Overall Chemistry – This is a hidden number, which comes from a combination of Individual Player Chemistry and Team Chemistry. A high Overall Chemistry will increase player attributes; a low Overall Chemistry will actually decrease them.
Chemistry Styles – Modifiers which affect which stats are increased, and how much they’re increased by, when you have a strong overall Chemistry (Hunter, Hawk, Shadow etc).

How are chemistry boosts calculated?
75% of the boost is determined by the individual player chemistry.
25% of the boost is determined by the team chemistry.

So, it’s more important to have your individual players on 10 chemistry than have a high team rated but of course, if your players are on 10 chemistry then the team rating will naturally be pushed much higher also.

Here’s how to work out a player’s Overall Chemistry:

Multiply their Individual Player Chemistry by 10, and then by 0.75
Multiply the Team Chemistry by 0.25
Add the two results together.

So for example, if you have Marco Reus with a Player Chemistry of 9 and his Team Chemistry is 90, that would be 67.5 + 22.5, totalling an Overall Chemistry of 90 out of 100. So Reus’ attributes would increase by a fair amount and you’d definitely be able to notice this in game.

If the players calculation comes in at under 50, then that’s when they receive the decrease in stats.

Best chemistry styles for Gk’s

Goalkeepers are slightly different from the other positions here, as EA Sports failed to release the specific attribute boosts for their stats but we recommend you don’t look beyond Glove when choosing a style for your GK.
