Read these tips and guide on how to quickly make your virtual pro a better player.
Your virtual pro will start with a base of stats which make him a distinctly average player. Depending on what position you make him, what type of player he is and his height/weight will all go to determining what stats he starts with so choose wisely. (However, this can be changed at anytime). To make him stand out in the crowd you need to unlock as many accomplishments (400 of them) as you can. These are all based around your performances on the field and broken down into categories such as arena, defending, shooting, mental, physical and goalkeeping. The more you unlock, the better your player will become. The accomplishments are varied in difficulty with some easier to unlock than others.
Hit the arena
The first thing to do is to get in the arena. There are 30 accomplishments to unlock here (4/5 goalkeeper ones). These are pretty simple to unlock and within 5-10 minutes you should have most, if not all of these completed.
Play kick-off matches mainly
If you are playing kick-off matches rather than a career mode then you can choose weaker opposition making your task of unlocking accomplishments a whole lot easier. If you are attached to a Premiership side (one of the stronger ones like Man City should be chosen) then you can choose to play a division 2 team who are poor in defence especially.
By playing kick-off matches it doesn’t matter if you make mistakes as it won’t go on your record in a career mode for example. It allows to concentrate on getting those accomplishments unlocked and making your pro a better player.
Play longer matches if you have time
Instead of playing a 5 or 6 minute match which is, I’d say the optimum time for a match then up the half length to 8 or 10. Many of the accomplishments are make so many passes in a game, or set two up with ground passes in the same game. By having a longer half you obviously have more chance of getting these done. Having said that, if you want to get lots of games played for attributes such as stamina and man of the matches then lower the halves to 4 minutes.
Play on world class difficulty
Some of the accomplishments allow you to unlock them by playing in semi-pro or professional difficulty matches. My advice is to skip this altogether and just play world-class ranked matches. This will allow you still to unlock the beginner ones whilst trying to get some of the more advanced accomplishments.
Control the whole team
This way you can focus all your play through your player and make him the main points of your attacks. By doing this your player will see all of the ball and this will help to unlock passing stats such as 75% passing in so many games & play 12 consecutive passes without losing the ball etc.
Focus on specific accomplishments
This is one of the best tips I’m offering, especially after you have unlocked the majority of the simpler ones. If, for example you need to unlock the ‘Assist 3 goals in a game’ then spend a game trying to cross at every available opportunity and make sure you have players on your team who are good in the box. So, for example. If I needed to unlock some of the crossing attributes for my player then I would do the following.
- Change my player to a winger
- Make my player smaller and make him slim to increase the acceleration and speed stats
- Change the club I was playing for so there are strong headers in the team (Chelsea – Drogba)
- Play an attacking formation and style to get plenty of players attacking your crosses
- Focus all your play through your player
For the defensive accomplishments
You want to change your switching players setting so it is fully manual. This enables you to select your player and then try unlock the tackling and blocked shots etc while playing in defence. If you have the automatic setting enabled then you’ll find that you will keep getting switched off from your pro and lose the opportunity to tackle etc.
Using all these tips will help you upgrade your virtual pro
N.B – There are of course, people who have found ways to boost their pro’s by cheating and not upgrading their pros correctly. We don’t approve of this of like this and our way still provides a challenge. Some of the people who edit other teams formations etc and boost their sliders are taking the fun out of this game mode. I much prefer the challenge and the feeling of “get in there!!” when you achieve a particularly tough accomplishment like the goal-line clearances or 2 goals from 32 yards in the same game.
We hope these tips are useful and that you have fun working your way through the virtual pro accomplishment list.
